The Emperor Gautamiputra Satakarni (1st century CE) was a powerful ruler of the Satavahana Dynasty. He issued silver coins (Silver Drachma) with hill type. The hill has assumed great prominence and has become a royal symbol. It was chosen mainly for counter striking the silver coins of the Sakas.
The coin features a legend in Prakrit language, inscribed on both sides. Obverse is Chaitya of three arches with wavy line below with and without crescent, reverse is X Ujjain symbol. This is a well-preserved coin, mostly found in coastal Andhra.
