Amaravati Poetic PrismLaunched in the year 2015 in the city of Vijayawada, Andhra Pradesh, with an aim to provide physical platform to celebrated poets across India and other countries has received immense popularity and proved to be a grand success in the world of poets. Held once every year for about 7 consecutive years, the event came to be celebrated by the poets as a festival of poetry amidst the wonderful hospitality and visit to tourist destinations of the place.

The Amaravati Poetic Prism had a humble beginning in 2015. It brought together 60 poets from across India and garnered recognition from the Wonder Book of Records.
This inaugural event marked the birth of the Amaravati Poetic Prism anthology, meticulously compiled and edited by Ms. Padmaja Iyengar. This first edition, a testament to the event’s spirit, featured 142 poems in a vibrant tapestry of 19 languages.

Fueled by the inaugural event’s success, the Amaravati Poetic Prism took a significant leap forward in 2016. Over 100 participants from India and even a renowned poet from Thailand, the late Prof. Pornpen Hantrakool took part during the second year.
This surge in participation translated into a more substantial anthology, boasting an impressive 527 poems in a remarkable 53 languages. The 2016 edition further solidified the event’s prestige by earning recognition in the Limca Book of Records for its record-breaking multilingual poetry collection.

The Amaravati Poetic Prism event continued to break its own record in 2017. Edited by Padmaja Iyengar, the 2017 edition boasted a breathtaking compilation of 948 poems in 85 languages from 68 countries, surpassing the previous year’s achievement.
110 poet delegates representing various Indian languages (including several Sahitya Akademi winners) and 16 international delegates from 12 countries participated in this inspiring gathering. This grand showcase of poetic talent culminated in the well-deserved recognition by the Limca Book of Records as the “Poetry Anthology in Most Languages.”

Amaravati Poetic Prism-2018 saw a record compilation of 1111 poems in 107 languages contributed by over 500 poets from 76 countries, yet another milestone by CCVA! Amaravati Poetic Prism was recognized by the Limca Book of Records as a “Poetry Anthology in Most Languages”. CCVA also received the Setu Award of Excellence-2018 instituted by Setu, the Pittsburgh-based bilingual literary journal, for its contribution to literature, arts and culture.
The event saw participation by 118 poet delegates including A Padma Shri recipient, several Sahitya Akademi winners and 18 international poet delegates from 15 countries, 42 languages including 17 foreign languages were represented at the event.

The momentum set by Amaravati Poetic Prism saw another quantum leap through Amaravati Poetic Prism 2019 with 1303 poems in 125 languages by over 761 poets from 86 countries, compiled and edited by Padmaja Iyengar.
Amaravati Poetic Prism has once again received the Limca Book of Records as a Poetry Anthology in Most Languages along with an Award of Institutional Excellence-2019 from Motivational Strips, a worldwide community of poets and writers, for its contribution to literature, arts and culture. The event was attended by 104 poet delegates including 10 international delegates from 10 countries. Overall, 36 languages including 8 foreign languages were represented at this event.

The 6th edition of Amaravati Poetic Prism in 2020, International Multilingual Poets meet was held at Vijayawada virtually due to Covid – 19 Pandemic. 160 eminent poets from India and abroad have participated and sent their poems in 40 world languages.

In a virtual ceremony brimming with the power of words, we inaugurated our 7th International Multilingual Poets Meet.
The event, co-organized with the Central Institute of Indian Languages (CIIL) and the Language and Culture departments of both Andhra Pradesh and Telangana governments, marked its seventh iteration. The accompanying anthology, a testament to the diverse voices and themes explored by the poets, promised a rich tapestry of emotions and ideas.
