During the reign of the Tuluva Dynasty in the Vijayanagar Empire, Krishnadevaraya (1509-1520 CE) issued Copper Jital and Half Jital coins.
The obverse of this coin features the Garuda in human form, depicted with hands joined in a gesture of devotion, kneeling in the heroic virasana posture, with small wings spread out behind his arms. A conch and discus appear near his head. The reverse side of the coin features a three-line Nagari legend reading ‘Sri Pratapa Krishnaraya’. The coin is in very fine condition.
