Deccani Miniature Art

Since 2022, Pleach India Foundation has been documenting Deccani Miniature Paintings from the Bijapur, Golconda, and Hyderabad schools housed in the Telangana State Archaeology Museum.

Vaishnava Dwarapala

Noticed a significant Dwarapala sculpture in Malyala village. This massive granite stone relief sculpture, measuring 6.0 ft above ground level and 3.0 ft below ground level with a thickness of 9 inches, is identified as Vijaya, the doorkeeper of Vishnu.

British Residency, Hyderabad

We partnered with the World Monuments Fund to conserve this iconic structure, now a key attraction on Hyderabad’s heritage map. With the support of Department of Heritage, Telangana, we conduct various programs to celebrate India’s rich heritage.

Krishna Temple

A 12th-century Chola temple in Mundlapudi village near Tirupati, known as the Krishna Swamy temple, is facing severe neglect. Built during the Chola period, the temple features intricate sculptures and inscriptions but suffers from structural damage and overgrowth.

Yadadri Temple, Yadadri–Bhongir

Received a Certificate of Appreciation from the Government of Telangana for its consultation and guidance in the design and development of the Yadadri temple project. The extensive remodeling has transformed Yadadri into a magnificent spiritual landmark.

Jain Sculptures, Yellakonda

The 11th-century Jain sculptures at Yellakonda in Telangana are facing severe neglect. Artefacts from the Shaivite and Jain traditions are damaged and chemically coated. A proposal has been submitted to scientifically document and conserve the site.

Someshwara Temple, Kolanupaka

We provided technical expertise in documenting, dismantling, reconstructing and restoring the 1000-year-old Someshwara temple at Kolanupaka. Following archaeological conservation norms and the intricate Kalyani Chalukya and Kakatiya styles.

8th-century rock-cut cave

An 8th-century rock-cut cave near Vijayawada collapsed due to overgrown roots and neglect. Once a Buddhist retreat, it housed rare Vaishnavite sculptures. Heritage experts raised alarms, and villagers have now pledged to protect the site.

Served on the expert committee for content evaluation of the upcoming Kedar Parichay Museum at Kedarnath temple, Uttarakhand. Played a key role in designing themes and generating content for this cultural and historical museum.

A 137-year-old railway bridge

A 137-year-old railway bridge in Prakasam district, once a key British-era structure, now lies in neglect. Abandoned in 1992 after over a century of use, the bridge's remains are uncared for. Experts have urged the government to preserve the site and promote it as a tourist attraction in the scenic Nallamala forest.

Offered expert consultancy for restoring the 12th Century CE Uchcheswara Temple in Halebidu, Karnataka. The work involved condition assessment, documentation of damages and sorting out the temple's various layers to provide a solid foundation for restoration while retaining the temple's authenticity and cultural significance.

A 10th-century brick temple

A 10th-century brick temple from the Nolamba dynasty in Salakam Cheruvu, Andhra Pradesh, is under threat of collapse. Authorities have been urged to build access pathways and promote the site as a tourist destination to ensure its preservation.
