The Hiranyaka Dynasty has an ancient ruling lineage in the Andhra region, predating the rise of the Ikshvakus. They are historically significant for issuing lead coins, an indication of their administrative and economic activities in the region.
This is a lead coin minted during the Hiranyaka dynasty (3rd – 4th century CE). On the front, the image of an animal (horse) facing right along with a script is visible. A plain surface and patination can be seen on the reverse.
