The Satavahana Empire issued silver, copper and potin coins with various motifs. Coins featuring elephants and Ujjain type coins have assumed great prominence and have become royal symbols.
On the obverse side, the coin has traces of an elephant with a raised trunk and legends in Brahmi. On the reverse side, there are traces of a Ujjain symbol on the right side of the coin. Patination has occurred on the reverse side.
