The Context
Portrait coin of Yajna Sri Satakarni, the coins of this monarch was the last powerful imperial ruler, he known for his coins. The obverse showcases a bold, Indianized bust with elaborate hairstyles, ponytails and large earrings. The bilingual (Sanskrit-Prakrit) legends in Brahmi script reveal governance or trade ties with diverse linguistic groups.
