During the Mesolithic period (10,000 – 8,000 BCE) a significant technological advancement can be seen noticeably towards the production of smaller tools known as ‘Microliths.’ This was likely driven by adaptations to environmental changes.
This microlith is made from Chert. Its flaking is clearly visible and its edges have sharp flakes. Flint was a favored material in toolmaking during the Stone Age because it could be split into thin, sharp splinters, known as flakes or blades, making it ideal for crafting precise and effective tools.
