The microlith is made from flint. As a flake tool, its flaking is clearly visible, and its edges are both crude and sharp. Flint was a favored material in toolmaking during the Stone Age because it could be split into thin, sharp splinters, known as flakes or blades, making it ideal for crafting precise and effective tools.
During Mesolithic period a significant technological advancement was the creation of a noticeable trend towards the production of smaller tools, miniature version of tool known as ‘Microliths’, likely driven by adaptations to environmental changes.
