In the Mesolithic period, a significant technological advancement was the creation of parallel-sided blades. There was a noticeable trend towards the production of smaller tools, known as microliths, likely driven by adaptations to environmental changes.
This is the distal end of a chert pressure blade from Godavarikhani, Peddapalli district, Telangana. This microlith features flaking towards its upward sharp edges, characteristic of these asymmetrical blades from the early Mesolithic period. It is distinguished by its short and thin bladelet form.
