During the Mesolithic period (10,000 – 8,000 BCE), a significant technological advancement was the creation of a noticeable trend towards the production of smaller tools, miniature versions of tools known as ‘Microliths’, likely driven by adaptations to environmental changes.
Microlith, crafted from chalcedony, features flakes on one side and a plain surface on the other. The edges are clearly defined, suggesting it may be a piece of a backed edge bladelet, which falls under the geometric microlithic category. Making it ideal for crafting precise and effective tools.
