During the Mesolithic period, a major technological advancement was the development of parallel-sided blades. This era saw a shift toward the production of smaller tools, known as microliths, an adaptation likely influenced by changing environmental conditions.
A point microlith, crafted from quartz, one of the key materials found in the Deccan Trap region, is known for its rich chalcedony deposits. This flake tool features sharp edges with visible flaking on one side, while the reverse side remains plain, characteristic of microlithic points.
