A celt is a polished neolithic stone tool used for cutting or shaping, resembling an axe or adze. The celt was found at Mudumala, Makthal Mandal, Narayanpet Dist, Telangana.
The broken celt features an unfinished crude cutting edge with flaking on one side and a plain surface on the other. An unpolished stone ‘dolerite dyke’ is used for making these celt heads designed for attachment to wooden shafts, primarily used for felling trees or shaping wood.
