A hand axe is generally a core tool. It is the earliest and longest-used ‘designed’ tool in human history, according to archaeological records.
This particular hand axe is a biface, useful on both sides. It is roughly triangular in shape, broad at one end and pointed at the other. It’s made up of quartzite and used for cutting wood and killing animals for food. This was found while exploring the area at Bellampalli in Telangana.
