This passage depicts a Golconda painting of a Begum seated regally on a golden throne.
She’s dressed in a red brocaded dress and a white robe, adorned with numerous pearl and gold necklaces as well as ankle jewelry. The artist skillfully captured her posture, with her hand resting on her folded knee and a slight lean towards a drink offered by a female servant in an orange robe. The maid’s simpler attire, with a Patka headscarf and minimal jewelry, contrasts the Begum’s opulence. A small golden stool with fruits and vessels beside the throne further reinforces the luxurious lifestyle depicted.
