This miniature portrays a historic meeting between Rajas Chandu Lal (1766-1845CE), a poet and Prime minister under the Nizam Bala Prasad, who is known for presenting diamond rings to the Nizam in 1826.
Raja Chandu Lal sits royally attired on a yellow carpet along with red bolster with his name written nearby. Raja Bala Prasad, adorned with a jeweled turban, stands before him in a gesture of supplication. Uniquely, the Rajas’ names are written in five different scripts above their heads.
