Lakshmi is one of the most celebrated deities in India, and it has been revered as the goddess of prosperity and wealth since early historical times.
This stone sculpture depicts Chaturbhuja Lakshmi, traditionally shown with four arms, although two of them are broken. Seated gracefully, she holds a half-blown lotus in her upper left hand and a mace in her upper right hand. Dressed in a saree and adorned with a crown and various ornaments, this figure embodies both divine beauty and strength. Lakshmi is especially worshipped during the festival of Diwali for eternal opulence.
Dust and abrasion marks are present. The reverse surface is plain.
