In front of the historic Papahareswara Swamy temple in Basara, several ancient sculptures and inscriptions lie neglected. Notable among them are an 8th-century Badami Chalukya Ganesha at Ganeshalayam, and 9th–12th century relics including Jain Yakshini, Bhairava, Lingam, Nandi, Ganesha, Sati stones, donation inscriptions, and broken rock arches. These heritage treasures must be preserved for future generations.
