Heritage @ Every Step is a curated exhibition presented by Pleach India Foundation as part of the History Literature Festival, held from 6th to 8th February 2026 at Hyderabad Public School, Begumpet. Rooted in the idea that India is a living civilisation where heritage is not confined to monuments but woven into landscapes, villages, rituals and everyday life. The exhibition invited visitors to discover history at every step - often unnoticed and undocumented.
The exhibition showcased select heritage sites documented under Pleach India Foundation’s flagship programme, Preserve Heritage for Posterity (PHP) . Drawing from extensive fieldwork across rural Telangana and Andhra Pradesh, the displays highlighted cultural landscapes recorded through on-ground surveys and community engagement.
The signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between Pleach India Foundation and the Itivrit Foundation, marked the beginning of a meaningful collaboration focused on documentation, dissemination and public engagement with India’s cultural heritage. This partnership set the tone for the exhibition’s larger vision - reimagining heritage as a living continuum and reinforcing that awareness is the first step towards preservation, while creating accessible platforms that help communities reconnect with their roots.
During the inauguration of the History Literature Festival, Pleach India Foundation was honoured with a formal citation in recognition of its outstanding contribution to preserving, promoting, curating and disseminating knowledge on India’s built heritage and cultural traditions. The citation acknowledged Pleach’s sustained efforts over the past decade in making heritage knowledge freely accessible to the public through its digital platforms and community-driven initiatives.
This recognition not only celebrated the Foundation’s work but also reaffirmed its commitment to documentation, public engagement and the larger mission of connecting communities with their cultural roots.
