1000 year old temple at Chilkur in a decrepit state

Findings

Noticed a 1000 year old temple built in Rastrkuta style of architecture in a dilapidated state at Chilkur in Moinabad Mandal.

Many sculptures scattered at the entrance of the village and a dilapidated structure inside the tank bund dating between 9th and 10th centuries CE.

Call to Action

Suggested removing chemical colours deliberately coated on the sculptures and lime wash on the temple to render the original look, besides erecting a signage with a historical note on the main road leading to the Balaji temple to draw devotees to the Shiva temple.

Neolithic rock art found on hillock at Moosapet

Findings

A rock bruising of a bull of the Neolithic period has been found at Musapet in Mahabubnagar during an exploration.

At the site, the team identified remnants of the Rashtrakuta, Kalyani Chalukya, Kakatiya and Vijayanagara periods, represented by temple structure and sculptures.

Noticed that the art form was dull due to weather

Appealed to the villagers to preserve the archaeologically important prehistoric rock art form for posterity and make suitable scaffolding arrangements for the visitors to access it for a comfortable view.

Findings

Noticed 12th century Chola Temple in dilapidated state at Mundlapudi Village

Appealed to the villagers of Mundlapudi to restore the Chola temple by dismantling and reconstructing it on strong modern foundations, preserving it for posterity.

Kakatiya Period Biggest Vaishnava Dwarapala in Telangana noticed

Findings

Noticed a significant Dwarapala sculpture in Malyala village, Narayanaranpet, Siddipet district

This massive granite stone relief sculpture, measuring 6.0 ft above ground level and 3.0 ft below ground level with a thickness of 9 inches, is identified as Vijaya, the doorkeeper of Vishnu.

Call to Action

Appealed to the villagers to raise the idol and place it on a pedestal at an appropriate location within the village. Proper labeling with historical details and iconography is recommended to benefit research scholars and future generations.

Neolithic remains dating back to 2000 BCE found

Findings

Noticed remains of a seasonal habitation of prehistoric man and grooves formed out of grinding and polishing of stone axes during the Neolithic period on a huge hillock locally known as Pedagutta near Lanco Hills, Hyderabad.

Made an appeal to the Padmanabha temple authorities to preserve them for posterity in the light of new constructions coming up all around.

Found an inscription of the mighty Vijayanagara Empire Srikrishnadevaraya (1516 CE) a state of utter neglect in front of a ruined temple of an abandoned village
