Samagopa Coin

An ancient South Vidarbha/Telangana the remarkable pre-Satavahana coin, unearthed at the Kotilingala site, it whispers tales of the reign of King Samagopa. The obverse side of coin have various symbols. A prominent triangle-headed figure stands tall, flanked by a strung bow and arrow, perhaps signifying authority and warfare. Below, an image of a bull and a tree and an inscription in the ancient Brahmi script adds an enigmatic touch.

On the reverse side of coin, to discover an ornate double-lined Nandyavarta symbol. An intricate design, resembling a swirling sun, might hold religious significance or represent prosperity.
