On Making of a Visual Landscape of an Embodied Navigation System

In the process of working on visual representation of heritage landscape layouts at Pleach India Foundation, I had to have a possible understanding of the particular site. While I was doing the Hampi heritage site layout, I went through the whole landscape by accessing multiple visual and textual portals associated with this. By doing so, I got a clear idea of the landscape and the navigation of the site.

The most exciting result of this exploration was when my friend visited Hampi and  asked me about some particular location nearby.  Although I was not with them, I was able to assist them as if I was there, through phone calls and direct messages such as ” just go straight, take the left and head about 400 meters”.

Suddenly, I realized that even though I have never been to Hampi,  now I am empowered with the detailed perception of the site which gives me insights  of the landscape in such a way  that I can just inform where the Hazara Rama temple is exactly situated, being in a distance of 1000 kilometers.
